The moment the tank goes down, stop watching the street. Your first mortar targets appear on the rooftop to your right, and they won't wait while you search for them. For players switching from MW4 Bot Lobbies to campaign objectives, this is the moment worth remembering. Two soldiers move into position beside a mortar. Get your sniper rifle back out, find both targets, and shoot before either escapes. They're close enough for one round to hit both, but don't waste the opening trying to force that shot.
Know what counts before reaching the roof
Long Shot revolves around four particular enemies, not your overall kill count. The supplied mission walkthrough places the challenge in Counter Attack, the twelfth campaign level, during the push to retake Hajin City from North Korean forces. Its stated reward is fifty Gamerscore. What matters for your attempt is simpler: there are two mortar teams, with two soldiers in each. Ordinary rooftop enemies don't replace a missed target. You can handle the rest of the fighting well and still miss the achievement if one mortar operator gets away.
Set yourself up at the hotel
You'll reach the hotel rooftop after working through the streets and clearing the building with your squad. Pick up the sniper rifle waiting there to begin the overwatch sequence. Friendly troops below mark their position with green smoke, giving you a useful reference while you scan the surrounding roofs. Deal with the infantry and rocket launcher users threatening them. When the tank arrives, use the rooftop missile launcher to destroy it. Then switch straight back to your rifle for that first mortar team on the right.
Watch the triggers rather than guessing
After those first two operators are down, return to protecting the troops below. More enemies appear across the rooftops, so keep checking your surroundings rather than staring at the empty mortar position. The next important cue is a sniper in a tower on your left. Find him before taking the shot, and remember where you'll need to look afterward. His death brings out the second mortar team. These two moments are your reference points, so it helps to have them clear before starting another attempt.

Leave yourself ready for the distant pair
Look far down the road toward the end of the parking structure, roughly three or four floors high. That's where the remaining operators appear. Settle your aim, shoot, and find the second soldier immediately. A save may trigger after the first hit, which makes a missed follow-up especially frustrating. If you've been browsing cheap MW4 Bot Lobbies, keep this campaign requirement separate from multiplayer progression. All four mortar operators need to fall during the rooftop sequence; if one escapes, reload the available checkpoint and try again.
